Our digital printers and presses all use digital artwork files, so we are more than happy to receive electronic files, so long as they meet a few basic requirements.
Equally, we are happy with artwork on paper, which may require converting to film before printing (costs will be confirmed on receipt).
And if design really is not your thing, our design team will be happy to create any artwork you require in our in-house design studio.
We accept digital artwork files created on a PC or a Mac that meet the following requirements:
• TIFF, JPG, PDF, EPS, PSD, AI, Microsoft Excel, Word and Publisher files and Corel Draw files
• No less than 300 dpi resolution
Below this resolution, your printing may look pixalated (dotty).
• Saved in CYMK colour format
Files submitted as RGB will need to be converted and we cannot guarantee accurate colours as a result.
• Have a bleed of at least 1/8" on each edge of your artwork
The bleed is a 2mm ‘border’ that allows us to trim without fear of cutting away any of your final print. Larger formats may require a larger bleed area - call us for details.
• Has text approximately 1/4" from the edge of your artwork.
If text is right up to the edge it may get trimmed away in finishing.
• Has embedded fonts (PDFs)
Please ensure all fonts are embedded when you export your PDF, or convert all text to outlines.
If you have any questions about your artwork, please do not hesitate to call us at 519-537-3082.
Your artwork can be sent to us as a digital file
Sorry, we cannot accept files on USB memory sticks or SD cards to safeguard our own IT systems.
Call us first at 519-537-3082 with your requirements, so we can discuss your print job and suggest the best paper to use, or method of printing.
If it's an easy job and you already know exactly what you want, including quantity, paper weight, finish (gloss, matt), final job dimensions and turnaround speed, send us an email and we'll quote you a price for your job.
For urgent printing jobs, see our Fast Track Printing page.
Once we receive your artwork, we'll check it to make sure it's all OK, and there are no stray RGB pictures, for example. Please note this is only a check for the suitability of the file for printing, it is not a check for any typos or spelling mistakes you might have made!
You will receive a PDF proof by email from us: please check to ensure it is all correct, and then email us your approval to print. Printing will not start until this approval has been received by us.
For new customers, we may ask either for payment up front by Debit, Visa or Master Card, or cheque on collection, or we might invite you to set up an account with us. For existing customers, we offer payment on collection or by invoice.
